Scholarships
The Zonta Club of Arlington supports and promotes education for women with scholarship awards to students attending a local college or university. We have two active scholarships, The Jane Klausman Award and one in the nursing field.
Each year we offer a scholarship to a female nursing student in the Family Practice/Maternal Child Health Program in a local college or university who may need assistance in fulfilling her professional aspirations. We ask the c
ollege to identify and select a female graduate student working toward an advanced level of nursing, with a minimal average of B, who works studiously toward her goals regardless of the obstacles that life puts in front of her. The student is invited to be our dinner guest at our monthly meeting in April or May. For the past several years, we have partnered with MaryMount University, Arlington, Va.
We also offer a business scholarship each year. Upper level business administration students in Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria, including undergraduates as well as those in graduate school, are eligible for both our local Jane M. Klausman scholarship as well as one of 6 International scholarships. Applications are due May 25, 2012 for the 2012-2013 academic year.
